Almost $20,000 raised for Alzheimer’s research!

Thank you Bellevue, and Nashville, Tennessee merchants who donated to our Longest Day silent auction. Thank you Bellevue and Nashville, Tennessee residents who attended our Night to Remember dinner, dance and silent auction. Thank you Chaffin’s Barn for participating with us and hosting our event. We raised almost $20,000 in one evening thanks to you who purchased tickets and who bid high on merchandise, gift certificates, celebrity memorabilia and more.

BPC Cares has participated in The Longest Day for Alzheimer’s Association fundraising for the past 4 years. Ever since our pastor, Kristi Shay Moore, issued a Lenten Challenge to pay forward $100. Our $100 has turned into almost $85,000 through yard sales, carnivals and silent auctions. All in support and memory of those in our congregation and in our families who have died with dementia and Alzheimer’s or who are currently living with the disease.

It has touched almost all of us in some way. And we want to see the disease eradicated.

In addition to The Longest Day fundraiser BPC Cares also hosts The Sunny Day Club® each Wednesday at Bellevue Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, Tennessee from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Many volunteers from our community help with this important program.

Joyce Wisby, a BPC member whose husband Jim died with early-onset Alzheimer’s, leads a support group in association with The Barton House in Bellevue, Tennessee and the Middle Tennessee Alzheimer’s Association. It is the only support group in Bellevue that provides respite care.

And don’t forget, when you want your fix of the infamous Butter Braid Bread you can always get your favorite flavor at Bellevue Presbyterian Church with profits benefiting the work we do for those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.
